Types of Hen Housing

Conventional Housing

This has been the predominant housing method in Canada for decades. Hens are housed together in small social groups that offer easy access to food and water, and the eggs are collected by hand or conveyor.

Enriched Housing

A more spacious alternative to conventional housing, enriched colony cages provide hens with room to perch and lay their eggs in a nesting area. It also allows scratch pads for the hens to indulge in one of their natural instincts to dust bathe. The eggs are collected by hand or conveyor.

Free Run

The hens are free to roam in open concept barns equipped with nests, perches and dust bathing areas. There is ample access to both feed and water.

Free Range

All the amenities of Free Run housing, but with additional access to an outdoor area weather permiting. This allows the hens the opportunity to forage and express other natural behaviours.

Hen Care

Feed and Water

Working closely with nutritionists, we provide our hens with access to top-quality feed and clean water 24 hours a day.
